Friendship Mission, Inc. is extremely grateful for the generosity of its donors whose gifts of all sizes provide shelter, food, other basic needs and connections to valuable resources to help the least, the last, and the lost. Stewardship of each gift and donor is important to FMI.

Dear Friend:

FRIENDSHIP MISSION arose when a local pastor answered a call to minister to and serve hungry and homeless men in Montgomery. Today, the ministry has grown to serve men, women and children and is a faith-centered refuge for the River Region’s homeless and poor that exemplifies compassion, promotes self-sufficiency and offers the necessary tools for people to stabilize their lives. Annually, Friendship Mission provides one or more nights shelter for more than 300 people and serves 40,000 meals. Friendship Mission operates two emergency shelters and a public soup kitchen to provide food and shelter for men, women and women with children 365 days a year.

Homelessness and hunger happen to people every single day, even here in the River Region; therefore, our mission is continuous. Half of the annual budget is given generously by local individuals and businesses. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to offer basic human needs for the least of these in need of our services.

When Friendship Mission offers help to someone in need, we offer hope to those who have faced many struggles.

You did for our daughter what my wife and I couldn’t do.” -A grateful father

Friendship Mission extends help and hope to those in need with a goal of helping them navigate their personal obstacles so that they may one day live independently within their potential.

We ask that you continue to give at the same level, or higher, than you have given in the past. If you have not given before, we ask that you prayerfully consider starting now. Your gifts help provide shelter, food, hygiene items, and so much more to those who have nothing left.

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matt 25:40 KJV

Sincerely,

Tara Davis,
Executive Director
