Page 1 of 3 [February 2011] I A LOOK BACK AT 2010In February of last year we were notified by the Salvation Army that they would be shut down for 3 or 4 months to remodel. We prepared by lowering our in house population and building bunk beds for the overflow. It was 9 months before they finally reopened in November. The summer was long and hot and the winter has proved to be the worst in recent times. Dear ones our facilities were stretched and put to the test during this period, we were and still are filled to near capacity each night. With the Lord's grace and Hisgoodness to sustain us through your generosity we persevered and met the needs of the people. During this time Friendship Mission came to be in the spot light so to speak, our mission was brought out before many new people and the credibility gained by us will be priceless in future fund raising efforts. We received great praise and thanksgiving for our services, care, good food, mercy, and the teaching of God's word. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the Lord, our supporters, churches, and the grantors for their contributions during the year. We were blessed beyond measure and we ended the year with money in the bank( $100,000.00). We undergo an independent audit by a certified firm each year. Anyone who would like to see a financial statement we would be glad to provide it upon request. Our Lord said in Luke 6:38 “ Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” ( New American Standard copyright 1981). Thank you for your financial contributions and for your prayers, they are very important to us. |
