Read the Story of Friendship Mission:
How we began
Who we are…
- Established in 1996, The Friendship Mission provides food, shelter, clothing, spiritual guidance, medical and social assistance, and other physical needs of the poor and homeless in the Montgomery area.
- A ministry associated with the Presbyterian Church in America’s (PCA) Southeast Alabama Presbytery.
- Directed by a Board of pastors, church officers, and lay professionals with expertise in various ministry-related fields.
- Pastored by Vincent A. Rosato, a PCA minister with over 23 years of experience in several churches.
- Assisted by church officers and lay volunteers from the Montgomery area and around the state.
Why we’re here… (Mission Statement)
- To obey the Lord, who says, “For the poor shall never cease out of the land; therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother; to thy poor; and to thy needy, in thy land.” (Deuteronomy 15:11)
- To apply the historic teachings of the Bible to the needs of Montgomery, Alabama in the 21st century.
- To teach Mission residents the gospel of Jesus Christ and equip them with work and life skills.
- To rejoice in the successes of many of our residents as they grow spiritually and improve their social standing to become independent and productive members of society.
- To continue the ministry of helping the spiritually lost and physically homeless in our community who have nowhere else to turn.
